Augmented Reality Services

Augmented reality involves displaying a hologram like graphic into the existing environment. Dissimilar to Virtual Reality, where you are immersed into a fictional environment, Augmented reality occurs in the real world, through a technology generated image. Augmented reality allows for a new approach in Marketing to be taken and used within a campaign. Since the increase in popularity of Augmented Reality in the early 2010’s, we have worked to perfect our skills to provide businesses with powerful visuals to elevate their campaigns.

The central selling point for using Augmented Reality content in a marketing strategy is that it aids consumers when they are testing/considering purchasing a product. It represents the item with 100% precision, through a digital display of the product.

It provides the consumer with the extra assurance they require for purchasing a product. Comparing purchasing a product online vs using Augmented Reality, when purchasing a product online it is only a case of a few images of the product (maybe a video if you’re lucky) and a description of what the product is and what it consists of. Online shopping can be unreliable a lot of the time, tricking you into buying a product that is made out to be something that it really isn’t. Augmented reality allows you to see what the product is ‘in person’, allowing for a more informed decision to be made. Going back to online shopping, people may be swayed by the reviews they read, reviews are due to the personal experience someone has had with the product, so they are subjective and therefore ambiguous to the public. This won’t happen with AR, you are making a decision on a product that you have full access to, no regards for other opinions.

Augmented Reality has many major benefits to consumers looking for a product/service. Firstly, they are a creative and very attractive marketing method. When used in the correct way, beautiful and exuberant designs can be made to sell a product. They can be effectively used in Marketing campaigns to help upsell a product as it has the power to give a product more emotion, telling a story that engages the audience. It can help to power sales digitally as it saves the time of going to a physical shop. Take a jewellery store, you may go to a jeweller to look and try on watches. However, this can now be done through AR as you can see the hologram of the watch on your wrist as if it was on physically there, clicking through each make/type of watch to see which one you prefer the best.

One of the most well recognised examples of AR in marketing is Ikea’s AR feature. This feature allows you to display a hologram of a piece of furniture you are interested in into your house, so you can gain a genuine idea of what the concept would look like if it was in your home. This means that the consumer will be very satisfied that they are making the right decision in purchasing the product. Another example is Snapchat, we see that some companies will introduce their own filter to promote a product (a common example includes a new film premiering, so they will pay to have a snapchat filter as a source of promotion), these filters are often interactive filters that means the snapchat user connects with the brand, consisting of some sort of AR feature to allow this interactivity to occur. The benefit this has on the brand is that it gets individuals to recognise and engage with the business in a new way.
