2d animation to celebrate EASEE-gas’s 20th anniversary!
Background
EASEE-gas are the European Association for the Streamlining of Energy Exchange, they were founded in 2002 and currently consist of 85 companies, all active in the European gas market. The association is registered in France and managed in Brussels, Belgium.
Their purpose was to develop and promote business practices to simplify and streamline gas transfer and trading across Europe. Over the years they have been running, they have created many solutions, including edig@s. This is the electronic message standard for the European Gas market, we previously produced a 2d animation for our friends over at EASEE-gas explaining what edig@s is- take a look at this project here!
They are on a mission to deliver efficient and harmonised solutions that support business processes across the different actors in the gas value chain; they are facilitating the transition to a sustainable and integrated energy system in Europe.
EASEE-gas are juggling many objectives of what they are aiming to achieve; they are trying to develop new and maintain existing business solutions that serve the needs of the gas chain, develop, maintain and promote data exchange standard for the energy sector, among many other things.
The Task
EASEE-gas came to Painting Pixels for another animation, this time to celebrate their 20th anniversary!
They wanted to show all the achievements they have completed over the last 20 years; by working closely on a number of solutions, they have managed to support business processes across the different actors of the gas value chain.
It was important to them to have their success shown through a concise 2d animation, lasting roughly 5-6 minutes. This could be considered a long animation, but with the number of achievements EASEE-gas have accomplished, we were amazed to be able to fit it into this time frame!
The Process
This project began as every project does, with an idea; once we have planned the project and know what we need to create, we waste no time with getting started on the script.
We pride ourselves on our ability to script write, as long as the client can provide reliable information, even just a website link, we will happily crawl through websites, white pages and conduct our own research until we have the right materials to write a good script.
Once we are happy with our first version, we send this to our client to get their feedback, any changes they would like made, we change no matter how big or small they may be. After any changes have been made, the script is complete!
We then choose a voiceover artist from our library to record the script, always making sure we choose one that fits in with the animations theme.
This is where out talented artists come in, they can then get started on the doodle board, this gives both the artist and client an idea of what is going into each scene. Some clients like to see this before production begins, others trust us with their project and wait until it is finished. We are happy to do whatever the client feels most comfortable about.
Production then begins! Our artists do an amazing job of bringing our clients ideas to life; using adobe after effects, they create bespoke graphics which individualises each project.
Once they have finished the animation, we render this to our client and they come back to us with any changes or feedback. It is then refined until the the final project is ready.
Result
Once we reach perfection, we make it live for the world to see! It is put onto any social media platform desired and the project is then complete!
Overall we were very happy with this project, as were our clients EASEE-gas.
It’s so important to celebrate your success as a business and that’s exactly what they have done. Congratulations on your 20th anniversary EASEE-gas!
