Covid-19 vaccine Transportation 2D Animation

Background

VIPA International are a global trade association that focuses on representing the interests of companies that manufacture or supply materials to The Vacuum Insulation Panel industry; they are also open to other institutes wanting to support their work.

VIPA are on a mission to act as a global voice of their industry, they want to promote quality and raise awareness about the many benefits their industry holds, saving space, energy costs and reducing carbon emissions are all included in this.

What is a VIP? A VIP can be used in many important fields, including buildings and transport; they are essentially ultra-thin, high-performing insulants that can be up to 20 times more effective than regular insulation products. They also provide energy efficiency and space-saving benefits, which was perfect for the Covid-19 vaccine rollout as well as home appliances and buildings.

Although VIPS have been around for about 100 years, they are now being applied to many industries that previously were not, this may be down to science advancing and the increasing attention put on energy efficiency- whatever it was, it has had a positive outcome.

When the world was struck by Covid-19 there were many unprecedented problems that had to be faced, one of these being the rollout of the vaccine. The huge quantity needed to be shipped around the world at stable temperatures whilst facing a variant of different climates, VIPS have been prevalent for many years in the cold-climate packaging market; this is due to its many characteristics, such as long-term thermal insulation, which meant it was perfect for the vaccine rollout.

The Task

VIPA International trusted Painting Pixels to communicate their message through an eye-catching 2D animation, they want to reach out to more companies who are missing out on this efficient product but also educate the average individual on such a revolutionary item.

They hoped for a short and sweet 2D animation that summed up the key points of VIPS and how important they were in the Covid-19 vaccine rollout. VIPA International wanted to show in simpler terms how VIPS work, their incredible features and the environmental benefits they have.

Our 2D animations have the power to explain these features in a concise and efficient manner so individuals are able to get to grips with the facts in 2-3 minutes instead of searching through a website for the same information.

Process

How did we get to the finished product?

All of our 2D animations go through a similar process, we start with the idea of what needs to be created, in this case, an animation of how VIPS were crucial in the Covid-19 vaccine rollout.

We then move on to the creation of the script, this is essentially a short version of a longer document which outlines the facts in a concise manner. This often has input from the client, as once completed we sent it to them to make sure they are happy and make any changes desired.

After the script is completed, we choose a voiceover artist from our library, we choose one which is best suited to the animation itself. The artist then records the script and once this is done, we get a real idea of what the animation is going to look like, so we then start on the doodle board.

The doodle board is so important in the lead up to production, as it gives our artists a real idea of what they are creating. The detail of this is entirely up to the client, some want a professional sketch up, which we provide but others are ok with a rough sketch and allow us more freedom- we are happy to do what the client prefers.

Production is then started, we leave this for our talented team of artists! Adobe After Effects is very useful as this allows for the bespoke graphics which make each animation so different.

Once production is completed, the first draft is ready to be sent over to the client, this can be refined as many times as the client desires. Following any changes, the 2D animation is ready to go live on their social media.

The process is then complete!

Result

Once every scene has been refined to complete perfection, the 2D animation is released, VIPA International was extremely pleased with the direction we took the project in, as were we; we had so much fun with this project, whilst also learning so much about the importance of VIPS in the world of insulation and transportation. We hope you learned just as much as we did!
