As we have said, the purpose of marketing is to attract consumers to your brand through your message, the idea is that your message will target your audience and convert them into a lead but how does an individual achieve that?
Types Of Marketing –
The answer is through one of these many types of marketing…

These are just a few of the many types of marketing businesses use to create their audience.
No brand relies simply on one method of marketing, although it isn’t possible to use every method of marketing, it is important to come up with a strategy and select the most effective ones.
The 4 P’s –
I wanted to mention The 4 Ps of marketing, if you don’t know, get to know!
These give an overview of how marketing interacts with each stage of the business- Product, Price, Place and Promotion.
Product
The product refers to a good or service that a company offers. A product should fulfil a customer’s demand or make them believe they need it and create new demand. Marketers need to understand the life cycle of a product, in order to be successful.
Price
The price point is incredibly important if your product is listed too high, you could potentially lose customers. On the other hand, if you price it too low, you may lose more money than you make. There’s a fine line, which is why reviewing your competitor’s price is crucial to success.
Another thing marketers need to consider is discounting, deciding whether discounting is appropriate as it can draw some customers in but also can give the impression that it isn’t a luxury product and is less exclusive.
Place
When trying to market or sell products, where you do this is so important. The goal is to get the product in front of the right audience that is most likely to buy, whether that be in stores, online or on adverts.
Promotion
Promotion includes advertising, public relations and promotional strategy; the point of this is to show consumers why they need it and why they should pay a particular price for it.
Another thing that is important to remember when starting out in marketing is that not every social media platform will be right for your business, research your target audience and find out which platforms will reach them best!
I hope you now have a clear understanding of what marketing actually is, there are so many definitions out there, this should be a concise version of the millions of other articles out there.
